Our hot news, which we introduced this week, offers internet users a unique way to secure all the devices connected to their home network. You do not have to be an IT expert or professional network admin to use Turris Shield. The only thing you need to do is to plug in the new Turris in front of your Wi-Fi router which secures your entire household or office.

The latest version of our router, Turris Omnia 2020, has been certified by the FCC, which is mandatory for sale on the U.S. market. This is related to the fact that this router is now also available at the Amazon.com online store.

The new version, which is offered for 334 U.S. dollars, has a silver metal design and features Turris OS 4.0. It also offers unique automatic security updates and a test version of the new Sentinel security system, which allows you to respond to network threats faster.

Customers from Europe will soon be able to order Turris Omnia 2020 in online stores Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es or Amazon.it. In the Czech Republic, this new product from the CZ.NIC association’s workshop is available at the CZC and Datart stores.

After a lot of hard work from our fantastic HW and SW development team, today is the day we can finally say that we are far enough to introduce you to Turris MOX – the first ever modular open-source router!

What does modular mean? Well, for now, we offer 4 modules: Basic (CPU, USB 3.0, microSD slot, GWAN), Extension (mPCIe slot), Ethernet (4× GLAN) and SFP (SFP connector). It is up to you to decide how you want to combine the modules and whether you want a router, an AP, a five port switch, or even a media converter. Just like Turris 1.X and Turris Omnia, Turris MOX will also be open hardware and run on a distribution of OpenWRT. All of these features are thought to give our users maximum freedom - you decide what function you want to use, you decide how you want to hack it! At the same time, as with Omnia, we offer a secure default configuration, an easy setup and most importantly automatic updates.

The older Turris routers (versions 1.0 and 1.1) still have some of the most powerful hardware available today. The only thing they lack in is modern Wi-Fi hardware. They do not permit a 2,4 and 5GHz bandwidth simultaneously, because they only support 802.11 a/b/g/n standards. To bring also our older models up to date, we have prepared the Wi-Fi Upgrade Pack for our Turris 1.x users. The package has a price of 1600CZK and will bring you up to the 802.11ac standard, that is the fastest available wireless connection.

The Wi-Fi Upgrade pack is for Turris 1.x routers and not for Turris Omnia. Turris Omnia has 802.11ac Wi-Fi from the factory.

We have successfully breathed live into first pieces from the second prototype series of our routers yesterday.

In the following days, we will test the devices thoroughly to check that all issues discovered on the first prototypes were fixed.

After a few long weeks since the start of manufacture, we have the first prototypes of our router in hand. It is the first tangible result of our effort in the area of hardware development, and we all look at it with awe.

Because it is necessary to program the low-level functions necessary for the system to start, we do not yet know if it would run. We will post more information on this website, once we know more. Keep your fingers crossed.

The rest of the manufactured boards are already in the process of assembly. Because of the number of components, it will take some time.
