Turris OS 1.7

Another major update of operating system of router Turris - Turris OS 1.7 - was released today.

List of changes:

  • Minor fixes in ucollect and ucollect-flow.
  • New plugin ucollect-spoof for testing of sending of packets with spoofed source address.
  • New plugin ucollect-refused for monitoring of refused outgoing connections.
  • Possibility to set which firewall rules should be applied in /etc/config/firewall-turris.
  • Added package list 'majordomo'.
  • Fixed bug in Foris that could emerge when multiple users accessed the interface at one time.
  • Python updated to 2.7.8.

Turris OS 1.6

Another major update of operating system of router Turris - Turris OS 1.6 - was released today.

List of changes:

  • Fixes of updater crashes and other minor adjustments.
  • Ucollect - method of updating flows rules from the server optimized.
  • Initiator of the communication is recorded in flows.
  • Only ipsets are used for logging and blocking of the communication in firewall.
  • Foris maintains persistent connection to the backend to improve performance.
  • Notifier sends Czech emails with diacritics.

Turris OS 1.5

Another major update of operating system of router Turris - Turris OS 1.5 - was released today.

List of changes:

  • Fixed bug in saving of Foris "Maintenance" form.
  • In firewall user can activate saving of .pcap files for further analysis.
  • Added NAT detector to ucollect.
  • Added missing option "bind" of p910nd.
  • Authoritative DNS server Knot upgraded to 1.5.1.

Turris OS 1.4

Another major update of operating system of router Turris - Turris OS 1.4 - was released today.

List of changes:

  • Connection of ucollect with server is now compressed.
  • Added "flow" plugin for monitoring of duration and size of suspicious connections.
  • Added option of using CZ.NIC's SMTP server for sending notifications - available in Foris configuration interface. This method has advantage in easier configuration.
  • Security update of OpenSSL and Samba packages, fixing vulnerabilities of previous versions.
  • Optimized sending of firewall logs.
  • Support of updates requiring restart during installation.
  • Added support of SATA port multipliers.
  • Enabled prefetch in Unbound, yielding possible latency reduction.
  • Possibility of installation of DNS server Knot 1.5.

Turris OS 1.2

May 27, 2014

Second major update of operating system of router Turris - Turris OS 1.2 - was released today.

List of changes:

  • Support for accessing the administration interface over HTTPS protocol was added
  • Czech localization of LuCi was updated
  • Watchdog was added to look over the unbound daemon
  • Packages Foris and Ucollect were updated
  • A few bugs were fixed in update notifications sending - maximum delay for planned restart was limited to 10 days

Turris OS 1.1 is on its way to users

First major update of operating system of router Turris was released. In order to make it easier to follow the updates, we decided to assign version numbers to major releases. Thus the current update is Turris OS 1.1.

In addition to many fixes and updates of core packages, there are also several improvements in the user interface Foris. You can newly find information about new functionality and package updates there, and it is also possible to have the same information sent by e-mail directly from your router.
